Solicitors Corner
Website Design
A modern law firm website built with Next.js — fast, professional, and designed around generating qualified enquiries in a competitive legal services market.
The challenge
Law firm websites have a trust problem. Most solicitor practices either look like they were built in 2008 or are using generic template sites that make them indistinguishable from the next firm down the road. Solicitors Corner needed a site that felt modern and professional, communicated their specific areas of practice clearly, and made it easy for a potential client — often stressed and in a difficult situation — to reach out.
The site also needed to be fast. Legal clients often search on mobile and expect near-instant load times. A slow or cluttered site would increase the chance they'd hit the back button.
Why Next.js
This project used Next.js rather than plain HTML because the client's content was likely to grow over time — more practice areas, team members, blog posts — and a React-based framework makes that straightforward to manage. Next.js also delivers excellent performance out of the box through server-side rendering and static generation, meaning pages load fast and score well in Core Web Vitals.
Netlify handles deployment, which works seamlessly with Next.js builds and gives the client a predictable, zero-maintenance hosting setup.
Design approach
The design uses a dark navy and white palette — authoritative and serious, which matches what legal clients expect. Navigation is structured around practice areas, making it immediately clear whether the firm handles what a visitor is looking for.
The hero section leads with the firm's core value proposition and a clear call to action. The services section breaks down practice areas with simple, jargon-free descriptions — legal websites often fail here by drowning users in terminology instead of explaining how they help.
A structured contact form reduces friction: it asks only the essential details needed to route the enquiry correctly and qualify the lead, without making it feel like a formal intake process.
Performance and SEO
Next.js's static generation means every page is pre-built at deploy time and served instantly from the CDN. Core Web Vitals scores are strong across the board. The site includes proper meta tags, structured data for the law firm, and a clear URL structure for each practice area — all of which help with local SEO for clients searching for solicitors in the firm's area.
Result
A law firm website that presents a professional practice as modern, approachable, and easy to engage with — without losing the sense of authority that legal clients need to feel before they make an enquiry.
